Maeve McCormack
Maeve McCormack from the Sligo Toastmaster Club gave an energetic speech entitled "Run". Appropriately togged out in her running attire. Maeve humorously recalls the highs and lows of competing in various running competitions. Including her toughest run to date the challenging Warriors Run.
Mari Thomas
Mari Thomas from the Roscommon Toast Master club gave a speech called "Shooting an Elephant". The speech was based on the George Orwell novel of the same name. The Speech vividly describes Orwell's justifications for shooting an aggressive elephant on the rampage. While, he is subjected to constant baiting and jeering by the local people.
John Waldron
"Do Crows need Planning Permissions" by John Waldron of the Mullingar Toastmaster club. A rare treat, John shrewdly recounts the differences between that of Crow's nest building and the current Irish building industry. The scene is set beautifully in his home and back garden. Where his wife ensures that he does some real work other then pondering about crows.
John Higgins
"The Bee All" a speech by Padraig Higgins from Athlone Toastmaster Club. Gave us a fascinating insight into the ancient art of Bee keeping. Padraig brought a long a small hive and some special effects to keep us entertained and informed.
John Farrell
A speech entitled "Slow down your moving to fast" by John Farrell of Longford Toastmaster Club. Very persuasively argues the value and importance of time . Importantly, he reminds us when reflecting back on the times in our life. That the time should be of memories and not regrets.
Werner Van Den Hemel
"The Morning Has Broken" a speech by Werner Van Den Hemel of the Mullingar Toastmaster club.
Informs us humorously of the life of the Blackbird.
While sharing his own personal experience of a Black bird flying into his house
and majestically sings for him.
Robert McDaid
Speech Evaluator, Robert Mc Daid jokingly refers to the Hunky Dory team and a possible local new recruit.
